POLYMER IMPACT ON FILTER BLINDING DURING ALUM SLUDGE FILTRATION
Investigations of polymer influence on clogging of filters in an alum sludge filtration. Tests of filtration with different polymer dosages in excess have been conducted. It shows that polymer coating is playing a minor role in filter clogging that is merely colloid-polymer dependent, best represented by its polymer/colloidal solids ratio. Also, there is an effect of the polymer on the size distribution of colloidal matter.
