ANTI-SIZED REED BED SYSTEM FOR ANIMAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Reed bed system for slurry treatment. At a lab scale, progressively sized system and anti-sized process with the same configuration were tested and compared. COD, nitrogen species and phosphorus were analyzed as a function of operating conditions. Anti-sized process shows a clear advantage in terms of performances, clogging and sustainability of beds. A model to predict occurrence and clogging was proposed.
