TREATABILITY OF MTBE-CONTAMINATED GROUNDWATER WITH OZONE AND PEROXONE
Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) removal by oxidation processes. Groundwater containing MTBE (200 to 2000 micro g/L) was treated by ozone and hydrogene peroxide. Experiments were performed in a large-scale system. The mixture of oxidants (ratio = 1) was more efficiency that ozone alone. MTBE was degraded in biodegradable by-products. Bromate formation was controlled by an oxidant ratio > 1.
