STRUCTURE-FUNCTION DYNAMICS AND MODELING ANALYSIS OF THE MICRO-ENVIRONMENT OF THE ACTIVATED SLUDGE FLOC

Activated sludge floc modelling. A model for COD and nitrogen removal is developed. It integrates substrate and oxygen mass balance and generalised Monod equation. Profiles and concentrations gradients are obtained in bacterial flocs for the different substrates. Modifications as a function of operating conditions are discussed.
