NEW ARSENIC STANDARD SPURS SEARCH FOR COST-EFFECTIVE REMOVAL TECHNIQUES
Arsenic removal by coagulation/filtration. Due to a low level of arsenic required in drinking water, processes have to be developed and studied to get the new contaminant concentrations. In a groundwater, coagulation with ferric chloride and ferric sulphate produced similar residual arsenic concentration. A ferric ion of 6 mg/L, a pH close to 6.8 and a filtration through a membrane filter disks gave an arsenic concentration less than 2 microgram/L
