CYANIDE REMOVAL FROM WASTEWATER USING GAS MEMBRANES : PILOT-SCALE STUDY

Removal tests of 4 different cyanide (acrylonitrile, benzonitrile, caffeine, praziquantel) containing wastewaters using microporous polypropylene hollow fibers with a total surface area of 180 m2 in a 1000 l pilot plant. The overall mass-transfer coefficient, and, hence the rate of cyanide removal differed. Both pH and the presence of other volatile species affect the rate of cyanide removal.
