This Note contains six sections. The first two discuss the reasons for irrigation and drainage and irrigation water quality issues. The following sections review potential environmental consequences and solutions related to irrigation and drainage, methods for quantifying impacts of irrigation, and drainage and remedial programs. The Note concludes with two case studies.
