Toward a European larch wood chain: individual progress report for the period from 01.07.98 to 30.06.99

This report presents the main results obtained in the first year in tasks 2 ("Sylviculture"), 3 ("Genetics and breeding"), 4 ("Mass-production of improved varieties") of Larch wood chain project : - hybrid larch variety testing - influence of silvicultural thinning treatments on growth and wood quality traits and influence of larch canopy on light and biodiversity of the undergrowth - growth and light modelling - mass-propagation of forest reprodutive materials (seeds and cuttings).
