Premiers résultats sur la biométrie et la biologie du maquereau du golfe du lion (Scomber Scombrus L.)
From April 1962 on, observations on the morphology and biology of the mackerel Scomber scombrus, fished off the coast of Sète, were undertaken. Those that are reported here were divided into two sections:1. -Biometric data2. -Biological observations: age, growth, reproduction. In previous works, having studied the mackerel in the western Mediterranean Sea, data on the Gulf of Lion seem rare except for the very dated study by Marion in 1889.While Andreu and Rodriguez-Roda, Bas, Matta have all studied this species, their material came from the region of Castellon de la Plana, the Balearic Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, respectively. Consequently, none of these studies concern the northern part of the western Mediterranean Sea.
