Planar BDD microcells modified by electro-deposition of 6-O-palmitoyl-L-ascorbic acid (PAA) for the uranium determination

In this work, a new miniaturized system was developed for uranium detection in waters using Boron-Doped Diamond electrodes (BDD) modified by electrochemical deposition of 6-O-palmitoyl-l-ascorbic acid (PAA) which is insoluble in water based on ascorbic acid. The immobilization was done by applying cyclic voltametry of range -0.8V and +0.8 V. The Reduction of accumulated U (VI) was performed in 0.1 M H3BO3, pH 3,4 by applying square wave voltammetric method (SWV). The effect of the concentration of modification of PAA was examined. The resulting sensor showed a linear response to U (VI) over a concentration range from 0.2 µg / L to 50μg / L we obtain a detection limit of 0.2μg / L with a correlation coefficient r2 = 0.9282.
