La peche maritime professionnelle dans l'estuaire de l'Adour en 2000. Importance economique et caracteristiques des captures de poissons migrateurs amphihalins.

This technical report gives the characteristics of the estuarine professional fishing located in the lower course and at the mouth of Adour river during the fishing season 2000. The fishery statistics for all the migratory amphihaline species (excepted glass-eel) are recorded according to the calendar year. For the glass-eel landings, the statistics given are relative to the fishing season (November, 1, 1999-March, 31,2000). The 2000 fishing season is characterized by a medium level of landings around 50 metric tonnes, but a high turnover, the highest of the 1985-2000 series: 1.47 Meuros. An evaluation of the state of the main exploited species is given: Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout, Allis Shad, Sea Lamprey and Eel (glass-eel and yellow eel). The catch characteristics are specified and catch trends for the main migratory species are described. Some considerations on the long-term evolution of fish populations and on the anthropogenic factors that could interfere on the fish dynamics are given.
