Consecuencias hidrologicas de los incendios forestales

The soil alteration and vegetation destruction caused by forest fires lead to important modifications of the hydrological properties. The present study quantifies the effects induced by fire on peak-flows and on the hydrological response of a little Mediterranean French basin. Data from the 23-year period before the fire and the 3-year period after the fire are analyzed and compared. The implications of the consequences pointed out by the study turn out to be critical in the Mediterranean region, where a propitious climatology converts the fire-flood-erosion sequence in the main agent of the desertification process. / L'altération du sol et la destruction de la végétation causée par les feux de forêts provoquent d'importantes modifications des propriétés hydrologiques. La présente étude quantifie les effets provoqués par le feu sur les débits de pointe et sur la réaction hydrologique d'un petit bassin méditerranéen français. Les informations réunies sur les 23 ans avant l'incendie et la période de 3 ans après l'incendie sont analysées et comparées. Les implications des conséquences mises en relief par l'étude s'avèrent être d'une importance critique dans la région méditerranéenne où un climat propice change la séquence incendie-inondation-érosion en principal agent de désertification.
