THE VALUE OF AN ODOR-QUALITY-WHEEL CLASSIFICATION SCHEME FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
Evaluation of the relationship between the chemicals present, their odour threshold concentration and characteristics from wastewater treatment processes through a conservative wastewater odour classification wheel. Aiming at serving as a basis for further work in sensory testing and odour control management for wastewater facilities, the paper presents an understanding of how the volatile odorous chemicals and their relative concentrations produced are related to the total odour quality from the process.
