USING CARBON DIOXIDE TO COPE WITH FLUCTUATIONS IN RAW WATER PH AND MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT
Carbon dioxide for a constant pH in water treatments. During the warmer months, some surface waters have fluctuations in pH from 7.5 to 9.2. In order to get a constant pH close to 7.8, CO2 is used. This treatment reduces the coagulant dosages and gives a very low aluminum residual in treated water.
