USE OF FERRATE PRE-OXIDATION IN ENHANCING THE TREATMENT OF NOM-RICH LAKE WATERS

Pre-oxidation and coagulation performances. Using potassium ferrate as oxidant, natural organic matter are removed by coagulation-flocculation with aluminum sulfate in jar test. Dissolved organic matter, manganese concentration and total bacteria are determined as a function of operating conditions. Utilization of ferrate at low concentration seems to be interesting.
