UNSTEADY DIFFUSIONAL MASS TRANSFER AT THE SEDIMENT/WATER INTERFACE : THEORY AND SIGNIFICANCE FOR SOD MEASUREMENT
Development of model for unsteady response of SOD and DO profiles near the sediment/water interface. Also presenting a model of SOD for steady state based on recent work, the investigations relate to unsteady oxygen transfer during SOD measurements. A comparison of SOD values estimated by the model with experimental data confirm the reliability of the model. DO uptake model can be used to provide guidance for field measurements of SOD.
