STRATEGIC RIVER WATER QUALITY PLANNING USING CALIBRATED STOCHASTIC SIMULATION

CHIANG P. C. / GATES T. K. - ARTICLE DE PERIODIQUE - 2004
Empirical and physically based stochastic models application for strategic water quality planning. Aiming at assessing interventions to improve the quality of river flows the models, adjusted with field observations, are used to predict distribution of possible concentration under alternative pollution-control strategy. Eleven different pollution control strategies are considered and statistics of TDS, N species and faecal coliform concentrations are modelled. Substantial improvements and potential limitations are also presented.
