SIZES, DENSITIES AND AGE STRUCTURES OF SCOTTISH "MARGARITIFERA MARGARITIFERA" (L.) POPULATIONS

Endangered freshwater pearl mussels (Margaritifera margaritifera, L.) populations have been studied in 12 scottish streams. The vulnerability or the health of these populations are defined in quantitative terms, including density of youngs, age profile, size/age data. The conservation status is also analyzed.
