REMOVAL OF PESTICIDES DURING THE DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PROCESS AT FLORENCE WATER SUPPLY, ITALY
Pesticide removal. During two years, two full scale water treatment plants were evaluated in term of micropollutant removal. Different steps were studied : adsorption onto powdered activated carbon (PAC) used in sedimentation tank, oxidation by chlorine, ozonation and biological grain activated carbon (GAC) filter. Efficiency is a function of seasons, chemical dosages and operating conditions. Treatments were ineffective for metolachlor and terbutylazine.
