REMOVAL AND RECOVERY OF HEAVY METALS BY BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM ACTIVATED SLUDGE TREATING INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENTS AND MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER
Interactions heavy metal and bacteria. In industrial effluents and municipal wastewaters, metal ions (copper, nickel, zinc, lead and chromium) were adsorbed in microorganisms present in an activated sludge. The influence of the pH (2 to 6) was studied. Langmuir equation was used to model the adsorption phenomena.
