A RAPID FRACTIONATION TECHNIQUE TO CHARACTERISE NATURAL ORGANIC MATTER FOR THE OPTIMISATION OF WATER TREATMENT PROCESSES
Natural organic matter (NOM) characterizations. A rapid analysis technique of NOM is proposed. Four fractions are defined: very hydrophobic acids, slightly hydrophobic acids, hydrophilic charged and hydrophilic neutral. Applications of this method were performed on raw water in order to determine the best coagulant dose in water treatment plant.
