PHOSPHORUS REMOVAL WITH MEMBRANE FILTRATION FOR SURFACE WATER TREATMENT

Description of the two pilot plants: a combination of precipitation/coagulation with dead-end membrane. One is equipped with a hollow fibre module (supplied by KOCH-Glitsch-GmbH), the second with a flat-sheet module (ROCHEM UF-system GmbH), quality of surface raw water (Spree River in Berlin). Results: phosphorus removal, hydraulics of membrane filtration (transmembrane pressure). Comparison with conventional floc filtration in terms of consumption of chemicals, capital and operating costs.
