OPTIMIZATION STUDY OF FLOCCULATION MIXING BY MEANS OF GRIDS
Flocculation mixing by grids. In order to optimize flocculation and coagulation of colloids in an oscillated jar test system, grids were used. The turbulent velocities were measured with a 2D Doppler anemometer. The particle removal, measured by the settled water turbidity, was studied as a function of the operating conditions and especially the average volume velocity gradient. A good grid arrangement gives better performances than that of standard flat blade interpeller.
