Managing extreme flood events. Analysing, forecasting, warming, protecting and informing

Flood events are the world's most dangerous natural hazards. They cause immense damage and account for a large number of casualties world-wide. The "RIMAX" programme has invested 24 milion euros since 2005 in developing strategies and instruments for flood prediction as well as improving flood protection and management solutions during extreme events.
