MODELING NITROGEN TRANSPORT IN DUCKWEED POND FOR SECONDARY TREATMENT OF SWINE WASTEWATER
Mathematical model of nitrogen transport in duckweed pond for secondary treatment of swine wastewater. The key parameters in the model, developed to describe nitrogen transport in duckweed-covered static ponds, include the diffusion coefficient of ammonium, which represents the conveying of ions to the surface, and kinetic constant of nitrogen uptake by duckweed at the surface. Experimental results showed that ammonium transport is the limiting step in this process.
