INFLUENCES ON THE REMOVAL OF TASTES AND ODOURS BY PAC
Tastes and odors removal by powder activated carbon. The odors and tastes in water are due to metabolites generated by actinomicetes and cyaniobacter. Generally, activated carbon is used in drinking water. In order to control the cost of such a treatment, modeling is required. The homogeneous surface diffusion model is used including the influences of previous specific operating conditions as flocculent residual dose or chlorine concentration.
