INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS OF THE IWA ANAEROBIC DIGESTION MODEL No. 1 (ADM1)

This paper deals with the application of the newly developed Anaerobic Digestion Model n°1 (ADM1) to two full-scale: a recycled paper-mill plant and a gelatine production plant. Industrial applications were studied in order to help in the evaluation of possible process or operational changes. In both cases, it was possible to predict with high or medium accuracies the likely effect of the proposed changes and then make an informed decision whether these changes were justified or not.
