HYDRAULICS OF A SEWER FLUSHING GATE
Fields experiments are carried out in an egg-shaped sewer to study a flushing gate effect. An empirical relationship giving the flow discharged as a function of the upstream water level is proposed. The distance along which the gate may potentially remove sediments is evaluated. Experimental and equations are presented and discussed.
