FORMATION OF NDMA IN CHLORINATED WATER COAGUALTED WITH DADMAC CATIONIC POLYMER
N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) formation in water treatment. Utilisation of polymer doses for coagulation flocculation gives a NDMA residual concentration in water. The studies were performed in water treatments plants. These compound traces react with ammonia addition and chlorine applications to produce NDMA. The influence of operating conditions on the NDMA formation are analysed and discussed. Recommendations to minimise NDMA concentration are proposed.
