EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON BIO-KINETIC COEFFICIENTS IN UASB TREATMENT OF MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER
Use of upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactors to treat municipal wastewater at temperatures from 6 to 32°C and hydraulic retention times ranging from 3 to 48 h. Use of the Arrhenius model to calculate the activation energies from which temperature coefficients were determined. Impact of the temperature on the decay rate, yield coefficient, half velocity constant and maximum specific growth rate.
