A COMPARISON OF ULTRASOUND TREATMENT ON PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SLUDGES

Ultrasound pretreatment to enhanced performance of the anaerobic process for stabilisation of sewage primary and secondary sludges. Presentation of results and comparison for different sonication times, densities and solids concentration. Experimental results showed a reduction of particle size and increase in soluble organics. Sonification density and concentration could influence results.
