APPLICATION OF MICROBIAL ENUMERATION TECHNIQUE TO EVALUATE THE OCCURRENCE OF NATURAL BIOREMEDIATION
Natural groundwater bioremediation evaluation. Three gasoline spill sites were selected to accomplish the following objectives :
1 - assess the feasibility of applying the microbial enumeration as the supplemental techniques to study the occurence of natural bioremediation and its effects on contaminant removal,
2 - study the distribution of geochemical parameters along the vertical distribution of the 3 aquifers,
3 - determine the percent loss due to biodegradation,
4 - identify the correlations between aquifer parameters, microbial populations, contaminant biodegradation efficiency, and grain-size distribution.
