FERROUS OXIDATION CHEMISTRY IN PASSIVE ABIOTIC SYSTEMS FOR THE TREATMENT OF MINE DRAINAGE
Description of the abiotic portions of a studied mining site. Evaluation of rates of heat transfer, average draining flow, gaz transfer coefficents and oxydations constants. Presentation of seasonal variations in temperature, dissolved oxygen, flow and iron removal in ponds or in channels drainage of iron mine. Demonstration of the benefits of channel designs and maintenance costs for passive treatment.
