An almost complete geological section of the oceanic crust and upper mantle outcropping on the flanks of the Gorringe Bank has been surveyed during eight dives of SP 3000 Cyana submersible. The section which is slightly tilted to the east bears a close resemblance to an ophiolitic complex. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR]
