EUTROPHICATION IN THE ARCHIPELAGO SEA AND DRIFTING ALGAL MATS: LIFE CYCLES AND METAPOPULATION DYNAMICS
The aim of the study is to reveal how increased amount of drifting algal mats and decline in bladder wrack affect life cycles and population dynamics of two water evertebrate species: an isopod (Idotea balthica) and a gammarid (Gammarus zaddachi). The results will reveal how species can adapt to eutrophication in brackish water conditions and they can be used to predict how species composition and abundance will change in different parts of the Archipelago Sea.
