DEVELOPING OF BIOLOGICAL MONITORING TO DETECT HARMFUL EFFECTS OF FISH FARMING

The aim of the project is to develop a method for estimating impact area of nutrient loading from fish farms in coastal waters. The project unites several monitoring methods already in use (monitoring of water quality, zoobenthos and periphyton). The aim is to develop new approaches and technics (e.g. onboard fluorometer, specific water flow models and water quality models) and new biomonitoring methods (phytobenthos monitoring in the littoral zone, monitoring of marine ecosystems). The results will be applied to develop the statutory monitoring system of fish farming.
