Successful pilot projects demonstrate government and civil society working together can develop a successful water resource/watershed protection management plans.
Needed components include the development of methodology for community based water resource protection; establishment of national and subnational regulations and policies; capacity building including education and involvement of local citizens and business; improved local capacity to protect water resources; protection and restoration of habitats/ecosystems.
